My name is Sheila and I'm 29 years old. I have lived on the Oregon Coast my whole life. I have a sister who is 25 years old. I am an Aunt to two little girls who are 3 years old. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years. I would love for people to follow my journey and hopefully get inspired.

I have been heavy my whole life. I finally decided to do something about it and recently had the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy done on 6/4/12. It is one of the best things I have done in my life. I started the whole process of having surgery in November 2011. At the time I weighed 227 lbs. The day of surgery I weighed 201 lbs. During the 6 months of waiting for surgery I quit drinking soda and started to eat more healthy. Was the hardest thing ever, but I did it and still am doing it. People say that having this surgery is the easy way out. Please let me assure you there is nothing easy about this. If your not sure what the surgery is you can Google Vertical Sleeve Surgery and there are videos and information on the surgery. I now weigh 185 lbs, but I am burning muscle instead of fat. It is very important for me to keep as much muscle as I can. Getting this surgery done will only take you far. I know I have the power in myself to do this. I want to be able to do all the things in life I have always wanted to do.

Chalean Update!!!

So most of you know I had started ChaLean Extreme about a month ago. Life got in the way and I had stopped it for about two weeks. On August 14th I started it back up. I can proudly say I am two weeks into it and feel great! My arms are getting stronger and I really can see it now. I learned how to flex and so I always looking in the mirror to see my new muscles :) that ChaLean helped me with. Everyday I try and push myself harder. I try and be careful with my knees and elbows because they get sore and it. I have always had a bad habit of putting all my weight on my knees. With this program I am learning things about posture and where to shift my weight. I used to lock my knees and I am trying to be more aware of not locking my knees. Old habits are hard to get away from, but I am trying. Today I weighed myself and I am down to 171 Lbs. I started out at 227 lbs in November 2011. As of June 4th, 2012 I weighed 201. Two weeks ago when I started ChaLean I weighed 174 lbs. Some of you may say to yourself that it is not a lot. I have done some research and the average weight loss a week should be 2 lbs. I'm in the middle so for me that is great! They say that the slower you lose it there is less of a chance gaining it back. I'm not so sure this is true, but if it is true that is great! I seriously tell everybody and anybody who is interested in losing weight but keeping muscle to seriously consider ChaLean Extreme or any Team Beachbody program. Gonna get it done

So I was doing great on my workouts with ChaLean Extreme, but some things happen in life and I got off schedule. I am going to be restarting my workouts on the 13th(Monday). I need to get back on track. I noticed within the first week of ChaLean Extreme that I was starting to get muscles and I felt stronger. The weights I was using was a 3 lbs that I started out with by the end of the week I was using a 5 lbs. It may not be a lot to some people, but for me I have no muscle what so ever. I owe it to myself to complete the full 90 days. For Halloween I plan on being a sexy cat. I would love more than anything to be fit for the costume. So here I go trying it again. The reasons why you should NOT order from Amazon and Ebay

  Before I started ChaLEAN Extreme I looked into ordering it from Ebay and Amazon. The reasons I looked into ordering from Ebay was because it was cheaper. It is great that is was cheaper, but are you really getting what you think you are paying for? The answer is no. I have read a lot about people purchasing Beachbody products like, ChaLEAN Extreme , Turbo Fire , Insantiy , and P90X on Ebay. When you order these items and there are so many more, from  Ebay you are more than likely getting a fake copy of the program. A lot of times if the items do not come with the original items, it is a fake program. Sometimes people will take a picture of the actual product, but send you the fake copy. I have also read people getting copies of dvds they ordered on Ebay that skip and that are scratched. If you run into that problem you may be able to get a refund from the seller on Ebay, but it is not likely. You will then be out that money you spent on it. All I can say is that buying from Ebay is buyer beware. I know for me I would rather spend a little more money knowing the item I am ordering is the real deal. With Beachbody all their products have a 30 day money back gurantee. Ebay and Amazon do not offer that. Also with Beachbody if ever anything ever happens to your dvd, like it got scratched or just quit working, they will send you a new one free of charge. Ebay or Amazon does not offer that either. Ordering any of the Beachbody products on Amazon is actually more expensive and you don't get a Coach either.

I know for me I was not wanting to spend a lot of money on a product to exercise to, but after thinking about it, it was the smarter decision. I know for me ordering ChaLEAN Extreme from Beachbody was better choice for me. I know that if I pay lets say $100.00 for a program your dang right I'm going to get my money from that workout. I'm not going to pay that much money for an exercise just to watch it collect dust. I just can't do that. Not only that, but I got a great coach to help me along.

Another great thing is that when buying from Beachbody and when you receive your dvd you can join the WOWY Supergym. What is that you ask? It is a place where you can log your workouts and also enter a contest to win money from $500.00 to $100k. Is that exciting or what? That for me is a great motivation for me.

Days 2 & 3 of ChaLEAN Extreme

First thing I can say about day 2 is that I totally can feel the muscles I have worked. It feels awesome. I am sore after the 2nd day and that is ok with me because I know I'm doing something good to my body. I'm not going to lie it is a little bit of a struggle because I am no where near fit. I have about 50+ pounds to lose. I haven't worked out in like forever. Honestly, I don't think I have ever done a work out like this. I did notice with the 2nd day that when I ate 30 minutes prior to working out I had more energy to do the workout. On day 1 I wasn't able to complete the work out because I didn't have any food(energy) in me. I made sure on the 2nd day to eat and see what happens and it helped a lot.

On the 3rd day(today 7/19/12) it was a challenging. It was a longer workout then the last 2 I have done, but was a different kind of workout. To me it was a little more cardio, but still a great workout. My body feels it too. Right now I feel exhausted and it's because my body is not used to this kind of workout. My boyfriend is doing this with me and made a comment that he was frustrated because he felt the 3rd day was advanced. I told him not to worry. It's like riding a bike. In the beginning your going to be a little wobbly fall down a few times, but you get better everytime you get on your bike. Just like exercising, once you start it your a little wobbly and not as strong, but everytime you start that workout you get stronger and better everytime. As long as you give it your all and try your hardest that's all you can do. I was told by someone that if you can not complete a workout, try stretching your body. When I come to a point I just can't go anymore I stretch and keep my body moving. You would be amazed at what strecthing does for your body. So all I can say to everyone is please do not give up. It is worth it. You are worth it. My boyfriend has been a trooper through this and will continue on this journey. He has started a change of life for himself. He feels great after working out which I love.

First day of ChaLEAN Extreme

So I did my first day of ChaLEAN Extreme. It was a great workout. I started out with 3 lb weights. I think next time I will try it with 5 lb weights to see how my body reacts to that. I also learned that before I work out, like a half hour before I should eat something. When I did my first workout I didn't eat anything before so I got really tired to the point I did 7 of the 9 workouts. But that is ok at least I did it. I'm going to make sure that I have protein after working out because it helps the body recover. I noticed something weird. I was not sore at all the next day after working out, but during my workout I was very sore. I could feel my muscles working. It was an amazing feeling. I'm not a person that usually sweats, but during this workout my arms were sweating and my whole body was. My boyfriend did the workout with me and his arms and feet were sweating as well. He had said to mr after the exercise how great he felt. I honestly wasn't sure if I would like this workout, but I'm glad I got it. It's different from any exercise program I've ever tried. MY FIRST BLOG!!

I'm super excited to write my first blog. I'm starting ChaLEAN Extreme on 7/16/12. I'm very excited. This is all new for me and I hope people can learn and grow along with me. I want nothing more than to be an inspiration to people and to help them see the potential in themselves. I know for me it is so much easier to make an excuse saying "I'm too tired" or "I don't feel like it." The excuses are never ending. I have learn within the last few weeks as I prepare for ChaLEAN that it is much easier to just do the workouts instead of making excuses. I have heard the saying it is harder to lie about something because you always have to remember the lie instead of just telling the truth. I think that kind of applies to this. It is easier to workout than to make excuses. Just imagine the feeling you will get after a workout. I know for me it is very empowering after I have workout. I feel like I'm on top of the world.
